20 months in jail for the Potts brothers' unprovoked beating

On May 24, Jarrod and Hayden Potts committed an unprovoked act of violence against an unidentified man outside Centrelink in Logan Central, south of Brisbane. At Beenleigh Magistrates Court, the brothers, who are 26 and 28, received a 20-month jail sentence. CCTV footage of the encounter showed the brothers attacking the man in the gray clothing as he left the premises. First to assault was Hayden, then his brother Jarrod, who struck the man many times in the chest and stomach. That day, the brothers also attacked another individual. They have been sentenced to pay $2,000 to their victims and will be available for release on February 24, 2024.
