On January 5, a woman called Thamiris Ferreira nearly died in São Paulo. She was talking with companions outside a Sapopemba pub when she was struck by a fast motorcycle rider, which knocked her out of her seat. Because a motorbike was parked, she was only slightly hurt when she stumbled on the road.
