After assaulting a man, the bear was put down

The five-star St. Regis Aspen Resort in Colorado hosted an unexpected event on Monday night. A security officer who had heard unusual noises coming from the kitchen was assaulted by a black bear that had entered the building after being drawn in by a noise source. CCTV footage showed the bear pushing the worker to the ground and then swiftly exiting the area after raising up on its hind legs. Thankfully, the guard only suffered minor injuries, which were attended to at the hospital. Later, the bear was recognized, put to sleep, and put down because of a characteristic white patch on its fur. The bear's identification was verified by Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials, who also observed that there were no food-related attractants in the kitchen.
