The makers of Man vs. Wild attempted to force viewers to accept anything. In truth, they wanted viewers to think that Bear Grylls, the explorer, was taking big chances in an attempt to traverse a perilous crevasse, and that one of the episodes had been shot on a tiny island in the South Pacific. Unfortunately for the makers, someone in Hawaii soon realized the trick and told other Internet users about it. In actuality, the lethal crevasse is not dangerous and is close to a road. After then, the offending episode was shelved.
