Before colliding with a freight train, a truck driver who was stuck at a level crossing made a risky escape

In the Börde region of Saxony-Anhalt, a truck driver hauling construction waste became trapped on the A2 junction between Marienborn and Belsdorf. He had to leap out of his vehicle to avoid colliding with a freight train that was transporting brand-new Audi models. A technical issue precipitated the tragedy, which led to the truck and locomotive being completely destroyed. While the truck driver was able to contact emergency services before to arriving at safety, the train driver suffered minor injuries. The truck's wreckage was pulled for more than a hundred meters. Rail traffic was badly disrupted by the collision, which halted the level crossing until Wednesday.
