After being struck in the head by a chair during an Ashdod TV Online broadcast, controversial Israeli academic Amir Hetsroni grabbed headlines. Hetsroni's name has been linked to a number of incidents from the early 2010s, during which he voiced controversial opinions. Hetsroni said that it was an inexpensive method of eliminating a societal parasite when a socialist demonstrator burned himself alive during a protest in 2011. In 2013, he said that if he had to pick between rescuing a feminist and saving a cat, he would save the cat since cats are more appreciative than feminists, and he said that feminist women participating in the SlutWalk were too heavy to watch.
