During a pursuit, a motorcycle and a fugitive police officer clash

During a pursuit in Southampton, a motorbike police officer, PC Derek Hearn, and a hit-and-run driver, Marvin Geddes, 33, collided. Geddes was driving 80 mm/h in zones where 40 km/h mph is the speed limit, in the reverse way, and after a red light while operating a stolen vehicle with suspect license plates. As a precaution, the chase was called off, but Hearn was not informed in time. Geddes slammed into him and then ran away. Despite having severe leg injuries, the policeman managed to flee. Geddes received a four-year jail term.
