A video of dogs racing alongside a driving 4x4 on a Dartford, Kent, road has led to a man being prosecuted with cruelty. Witnesses claimed that the animals were fastened to the rearview mirrors of the cars. Despite being notified, the police were unable to locate the car or the dogs. The RSPCA was notified of the event and is looking into potential animal mistreatment. Experts warn the practice is reckless and harmful, despite others defending it by pointing to the dogs' need for exercise. In the UK, there isn't presently a particular legislation that forbids the practice.
