In front of the employees, a man takes wine from Sainsbury's shop with composure
Description:
Despite the presence of store employees, a guy stealthily took four bottles of wine from a Sainsbury's supermarket in Finsbury Park. An employee attempted to reveal his face so that CCTV might capture it, but the suspected thief responded with unsettling composure. In front of the startled onlookers, he just continued and walked out of the store. This episode is a part of a nationwide trend of shoplifting that has been made worse by the financial crisis. Between June 2023 and June 2024, the number of these offenses increased by 29% in a single year, from 365,173 to 469,788 incidents, or two thefts every minute on average, according to official figures. According to a Sainsbury's representative, the police have been notified of the event and are looking into it using CCTV evidence.
