In Pakistan, churches were set on fire due to allegations of Koran sacrilege
Description:
In response to claims that two individuals had desecrated the Koran, thousands of Muslims in a Pakistani town destroyed Christian homes and set fire to at least four churches. Other church-related structures in Jaranwala, eastern Punjab, were also devastated. Police opened an inquiry into the violence and detained more than 100 demonstrators. The region is still in a precarious position.
