On April 5, 2024, tragedy occurred in Étel, France, when a 58-year-old man intentionally slammed his car into the Le Chat qui peche restaurant while inebriated. After the man was expelled from the restaurant for assault, the deed seemed to be retaliation. Eleven persons were hurt as a result of this careless behavior. Following the event, the driver ran, but the police soon apprehended him.
