On the Thai island of Koh Samui, 24-year-old Russian actress Kamilla Belyatskaya was working out on her yoga mat when she was carried away by a huge wave. She had just driven here by herself to take in the view and work out while looking out to sea. Her body is seen being thrown around in the turbulent waves on camera. She could not be saved even though emergency personnel responded quickly, arriving 15 minutes after the tragedy. The region is notorious for its erratic waves, which may be hazardous in the monsoon season.
