Description:

At first, I assumed this video was a prank, but it turns out it wasn't. A Nigerian ambassador was assaulted on camera by Indonesian immigration authorities, and the Nigerian government is calling for penalties against them. Social media users have been sharing footage of six individuals holding consulate officer Abdulrahman Ibrahim in a car. Nigeria referred to the Indonesian government's actions as a "blatant act of international delinquency." It has promised to examine its bilateral ties with the country in Southeast Asia. One of the officials can be seen on camera shoving the ambassador back into a seat after placing his palm on his head. Mr. Ibrahim reiterates, in between protest cries: "I can't breathe. My neck, my neck. Many in Nigeria are angry by the episode, claiming it demonstrates how other nations see Nigerians. Some are calling on the Indonesian government to provide an explanation.
