On May 30, hundreds of individuals were seen robbing the Walmart store on East Fletcher Avenue, according to CCTV footage made public by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Protests outside the University Mall had forced the business to close. People smashed through the store's front glass doors and entered with blunt weapons like hammers. The electronics department was most impacted by the looting, which police believed included about 200 individuals. Damage and product totaling $116,000 were recorded.
