Three persons were badly injured when a vehicle bomb detonated within a military camp in Cucuta, a city on the Colombian border, on Tuesday. Two individuals in a white Toyota pickup vehicle entered the facility pretending to be government representatives at around 3 p.m. local time, according to a Ministry of Defense statement. The military team was then struck by two bombs they detonated in the car. Since the ELN is thought to be the final guerrilla organization still operating in the nation, it is assumed that they are responsible for this attack. The territory is being fought over by a number of factions, including drug traffickers, ELN, and Pelusos, who want to take control of the 41,000 hectares of coca leaves and the smuggling route to Venezuela and the Caribbean.
