Three New York traffic cops are attacked by a motorist

An irate motorist and his companion are shown on camera assaulting NYPD traffic cops before escaping the scene. Around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, three traffic cops tried to stop a black Hyundai with Florida license plates from fleeing the scene, which led to the violent altercation. The cops were attacked by the 24-year-old driver and his 17-year-old passenger, who then rushed inside the vehicle and ran away in the direction of the Lincoln Tunnel. Later, Port Authority officers found and detained the pair. With scratches and bruises on their faces and heads, the traffic cops were sent to the hospital.
