Description:

Natalie Weber, 79, was taken into custody in Pittsburgh after she collided with wheelchair-using handicapped person Kelda Gorman. Gorman was hit and flung into the center of a junction in the event, which was caught on security footage and happened on November 13 at about 7:30 a.m. Gorman recalled the scary impact as she crossed Center Avenue at the junction with North Craig Street. Gorman already has spinal pathology and chronic pain. Weber hesitated for a while after the collision and then ran away. She acknowledged that she was the driver, but her windows were iced over, so she was unaware that she had struck a handicapped individual. Gorman will have more spinal MRI to evaluate the effect on her health, since she also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. Weber's preliminary hearing is set on January 10.
