On February 21, Ross Neiland, 38, was responsible for a tragic collision on the M27 highway close to Southampton Airport. He was driving a Volkswagen Polo at 150 km/h in the rain without a license or insurance during a stealing spree. After losing control, he struck a vehicle and then a truck with Michal Kaminski behind, who was killed instantly when his truck struck a building. Neiland attempted to flee with stolen suitcases while under the influence of cocaine. He received a jail term of nine years and nine months.
