At a religious ceremony in India, elephants engage in combat before attacking onlookers

When two elephants started fighting, a religious ritual in Thrissur, India, was abruptly halted, sending attendees into a panic. At the Tharakkal temple, the elephants, Guruvayur Ravikrishnan and Puthuppally Arjunan, interrupted the procession and injured several of the people frantically attempting to flee. The danger was eventually eliminated when the animals were brought under control by the authorities. To find out what caused the rampage, an investigation is being conducted.
