At an Indian event, an elephant provokes alarm
Description:
At least 17 individuals were insulted by an elephant at a festival in the Malappuram district of Kerala, one of them was gravely offended. When the golden-plated elephant grew irritated, it began parading with other elephants. The elephant rushed the crowd in spite of the mahouts' attempts to calm him down. He flung a man into the air during the confusion, critically injuring him. Injuries were also caused by the widespread fear. Using shackles to restrain the beast took two hours.
