Kirk Ruzek, the driver of the Impalas, remarkably escaped the incident with only minor injuries despite its violent nature. He was stuck in his car with the doors locked, but he was able to get out through a broken window. Before the rescue services arrived, the prompt action of two on-scene good Samaritans was crucial. No alcohol was used, and both were buckled up.
