By using beer crates as missiles to dissuade criminals, a bold customer in Leeds transformed an attempted armed robbery into a sporting contest. An employee in a Londis store was threatened by two criminals and an unidentified accomplished person with samurai swords. By tossing a case of beer at them, the daring customer was able to put them to flight in spite of the danger. Jeffrey Chikosha and Brandon Jarrett, the two main offenders, were later found guilty and given jail terms of nine and six years and nine months, respectively. The event did not result in any injuries.
