In a dramatic firefight on a Texas highway, John Phillip Lally, a former felon, became a hero by saving a wounded police officer. Following a multi-vehicle automobile crash and a police pursuit, the incident happened about 10 a.m. on Saturday. When confronted with gunshots, Lally, who was on the scene, decided to video the tragedy and his valiant intervention on his phone instead of trying to assist the accident victims. Officer J. Gibson was shot, but Lally saved his life by swiftly dragging him to safety behind his vehicle. The 19-year-old suspect, who was being followed by the other policemen, subsequently passed away from his wounds following a gunfight with the police.
