A pedophile who kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 9-year-old child died in a vehicle accident in New York City while evading authorities

Wayne Noel, 64, died in a vehicle accident while being sought by authorities for the kidnapping and sexual assault of a nine-year-old child at a New York supermarket. The event occurred during an 18-hour manhunt that began when Noel apprehended the little girl in a Queens Village Key Foods shop. CCTV video of the shop was used to identify the culprit, who Assistant Commissioner for Operations Kaz Daughtry characterized as an epitome of evil. Noel was sent to New York Presbyterian-Queens Hospital after the accident, where he passed away. He has a lengthy criminal history, which included being arrested in 2022 for a similar heist.
