During a police pursuit, a drug-addicted motorist smashes into a business

In a disturbing incident, a driver under the influence violently crashed into a store, causing €120,000 damage, after reaching 125km/h in a 50km/h restricted zone during a police pursuit in Swindon. After the early-morning incident on March 4, 31-year-old Liam Wells was not imprisoned but was prohibited from driving for two years. The collision happened next to a popular fast-food restaurant at the time. Wells was initially seen driving on Pinehurst Road without headlights, and when a police car flashed its lights, Wells disobeyed. After expressing sorrow and personally apologizing to the owner of the destroyed business, he then entered a guilty plea to charges of hazardous driving, driving under the influence, and driving without insurance or a license. In addition to being sentenced to a 30-month rehabilitation program and a reflection program, Wells received a 16-month suspended sentence. In addition, he has to pay 510€ in court fees.
