Environmentalists criticize one of Velázquez's pieces

After smashing the protective glass of Velázquez's Venus in the Mirror at the National Gallery, activists from the environmental group Just Stop Oil were taken into custody. To remind us that deeds speak louder than words, the campaigners cited the suffragettes' deeds. Suffragettes like Mary Richardson had previously defaced this 17th-century artwork.
