Islamists try to break into Hindu homes

A protest movement against the quota system for government jobs in Bangladesh has turned into widespread theft and rioting amid the country's escalating tensions. The majority-Hindu minority group in the nation has been singled out. When Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to India without an interim government in place, the situation became more heated. Social media reports depict Islamist extremists attacking Hindu houses and businesses and setting temples on fire. According to Bangladesh's Daily Star, at least 27 districts saw Monday's looting and targeting of Hindu-owned businesses and real estate.
