Italian police bludgeon aggressive demonstrators
Description:
Hundreds of protesters and police fought at a recent rally in Turin after Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visited the city to attend the Festival delle Regioni. Tension erupted at the end of the conference by the Carignano theater. People threw eggs and spat at the officers in an effort to breach the police perimeter. According to local media, at least two persons were hurt. The protesters' placards were unambiguous: Meloni! In Turin, you are not welcome.
