In Oakland, a city plagued by violence, an elderly woman was brutally assaulted without provocation. The woman is seen carrying a backpack and luggage when a man in a black Wild Boyz sweatshirt aggressively strikes her in the head in the video, which was posted on social media. Following this attack, the man makes an attempt to strike a second bystander who is also holding a bag. Then, when four guys who had seen the situation pursued him, he took the other bystander's luggage and the elderly woman's pocketbook. Both the victims' and the attacker's names remain unknown, and it's unclear if the attacker has been taken into custody. This occurs just a few days after Sheng Thao, the mayor, bragged about the city's decreased crime rate. Less than two years after his inauguration, Thao is already up for recall because of growing crime and financial issues.
