A police officer at Miami International Airport was caught on camera beating a lady who was hostile to him in 2020. The fight started when Anderson, the lady, was stopped from returning to Chicago on a plane due to her aggressive and drunken behavior. According to reports, she persisted in arguing when airport staff informed her that she couldn't take a flight until the next morning. Officer Rodriguez and Alvarez allegedly instructed Anderson to leave many times, but she refused. As she approaches Rodriguez's face, she can be heard asking, "You act white when you're Black, what are you going to do?" He then chose to shackle her to the ground after giving her a harsh slap across the face to calm her down. The South Florida Police Benevolent Association objected to the police department's decision to remove Rodriguez of his responsibilities and terminate him after this event, and the matter was arbitrated. Rodriguez kept his pay when he retired.
