In the back of a police car, a meth-high woman breaks free from handcuffs, seizes a gun, and shoots an officer and a bystander
Description:
Last Friday afternoon, 36-year-old heroin user Rachel Zion Clay was taken into custody for disturbing the peace. She was placed in the back of a police cruiser with double-locking handcuffs since officers were only meant to hold her until the medications wore off, not arrest her. The following events are depicted in graphic footage taken inside the car: Clay opened the gun compartment, reached inside the console at the front of the car, and took out an AR-15 assault weapon after slipping her right wrist out of the shackles. Then Clay can be seen shooting the gun, loading it, and pointing it out the back window. After receiving treatment for non-life-threatening wounds, the officer and the citizen who were hurt in the incident were discharged from the hospital.
